The Rules

Here is roughly how the game works:

• Each round, pick one club to play with.
• If your club wins, you earn 3 points.
• On a draw, you earn 1 point.
• You may pick the same club at most 2 times per season.
• You have 3 jokers to double your points for that round.
• The season is split into 3 periods, so you can also become period champion.

For Round 1, Piet picks EVC. EVC plays SV De Meer that round and wins 3-1. Piet earns 3 points for the win, 3 goals for and 1 goal against.

For Round 1, Thea picks Forza Almere. Forza Almere plays SV Real Sranang and the match ends 0-0. Thea earns 1 point for the draw. In the standings we see this

For Round 2, Piet picks Wartburgia. Wartburgia plays Forza Almere that round and loses 1-4. Piet earns 0 points for the loss, 1 goal for and 4 goals against.

For Round 2, Thea picks DZS. DZS plays FC Purmerend and wins 2-1. Thea earns 3 points for the win, 2 goals for and 1 goal against. In the standings we see this

Suppose Thea had used a joker for Round 2. Then her Round 2 result would have been doubled, so 6 points, 4 goals for and 2 goals against.

We don't know what a good tactic is. It comes down to knowledge, skill, insight and pure luck.

There are 26 matchdays and 13 clubs. You may pick each club at most 2 times, and 13 x 2 comes out at exactly 26 — so you'll need to pick every club at least once to fill out the whole season. There's no room to skip a club entirely; the real tactical choice is which round you use it in.

We also don't know what a good joker tactic is. It does seem better to use a joker on a match where you think your chosen club is fairly certain to win.

But in the end, things always turn out differently than planned anyway.
